I used a free program from Kodak to make the page and printed it on photo paper from my printer. She is crazy about horses and one of the pages happened to have a horse theme. I purchased a nice 5 pen package of roller writers from Office Depot for less than $4.00.
Inside the notebook I added a writing pad, some notebook paper and some page protectors.
Really nice, Mamma Bear! Our great niece (now 13 years old) first learned to ride on one of our horses, Katie. I used a notebook like this and slipped a page under the cover on the outside titled it 'A Cowgirl's Story' ...inside, I wrote a short little kid's style story about Cheyenne's weekend with Katie. Two pictures on each page with more or less descriptions of the pictures. But I put them in order of how it happened for her that weekend so it came out like a story. She loved it then and still loves it now. I know she'll outgrow being impressed by it at some point but I hope it will be something she keeps to show to her kids someday.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a story and I bet your niece will treasure it on into adulthood. Makes me wish I had made a story for Chloe now!!! Guess she'll have to write her own!
