What to Plant Now

Here is a neat calendar from Mother Earth News  What to Plant Now
Once you go to the website, click on View Planting dates, put in your email and zip code and you will have a printable calendar of 30 different crops and planting dates.  Mother Earth news will also email you when it is time to plant something in your area.  If the emails become bothersome you can always unsubscribe.

  1. We live down in a hollow where it is colder so I have to really force myself to plant a little later than the recommended dates. We are often 10 degrees cooler than the weather says we are. I could probably go by their schedule if I go with the next zone north. I just keep putting manure on the garden and getting ready.

    1. We have a somewhat micro-climate here. I will have frost and someone 2 miles away doesn't. The thermometer on my front porch which faces the north will read in the 30's and on the backside of our property which is more to the south and dips somewhat will be in the 20's. I always say we live in the twilight zone.

    1. Sandy...I printed one out to keep in my almanac which I am trying to go by this year. I am constantly looking this info up on the web. Now if I could find something that tells you how far apart to plant things I would be a happy camper. I tend to forget from year to year.

  4. Neat! Thanks for sharing this one. I've got an OSU/edu chart that gives you the distance as well as planting times for OK. You might be able to use the spacing info?
