Craigslist

is going to keep me in trouble!

Yesterday, my niece sends me a text of a copy of an ad on Craigslist.  A 2 year old Great Pyrenees that is free to a good home.  Late this morning I called, the lady still has her after numerous calls but someone is supposed to come and look at her tomorrow.  After talking for some length on the phone I told her I would be there with-in the hour.  The reason they were having a problem re-homing her was there is one condition to adopting her.  She comes with 5 of these!

They are 3 weeks old.  Yep...We loaded them all up and brought them home.

one boy and 4 girls.  Three solid whites and two black and whites.  The lady we got her from did not know who the father was.

This is Ella, their Mom.  She is in dire need of a bath and brushing.  She also needs to gain some weight.  Looks like the pups have taken a lot out of her.

She is a sweetheart and a good Mom.

The lady we got her from is moving to Nebraska to care for her Mom who has been diagnosed with cancer.

I don't think I will have any problems re-homing the pups when they are old enough.

Yeti wanted to play with them and spent some time in the birthing shed with them.  When he decided to get in Ella's food bowl she was giving some warning growls so I thought it best for him to be on the outside looking in.

Brownie jumped up on the fence to get a better look at what was going on.

Life should get real interesting the next few weeks!

  1. Oh how cute! What a wonderful person you are for taking these dogs in. Maybe you will keep them all. Yes, the mother sure needs some vittles. Beautiful.

    1. Thanks Tewshooz...My great niece and nephew have claimed one and my daughter and family may get one. We already had 7 before I brought these 6 home! As long as I can keep them fed and their vaccinations kept up I would keep them all! I am a sucker for cute little puppies!

    1. GS..I imagine it is going to be March or April before any of the outside dogs get baths. I'll use dry shampoo and a brush on her. Dryer sheets work good too for the doggie odor.

  3. Mamma Bear,

Oh my, I search craigslist all the time and have not come across a situation like this. If I did my husband would kill me, lol.............

Ella is gorgeous, needs a little more weight on her, and like you said a bath. But she will be a great dog for you or someone else. And the puppies, oh my..........I would have to keep them all.

    1. Sandy...I search Craigslist a lot too. It is my niece who finds stuff like this. I m going to stop looking at her text! bahahaha. Oh yeah...the puppies. Papa Bear just told me I needed to mark one of them to keep. One of our LGD was barking at something last night and one of those tiny babies was trying to bark and growl too!

  6. I love Craigslist ! In the past couple of years our family has bought a new refrigerator, dishwasher, and nearly new washer dryer for our daughter's new home. She also bought some genuine oriental rugs from a couple downsizing. I bought a nice car as a back up, from a person who was moving in the last month. I bought miniature horses, corral panels, and iron lawn furniture. One of my sons bought some land which although it was listed on MLS, we first saw on Craigslist.
Because I didn't want my husband to divorce me, I passed on the free Jersey steer, the zebra colt, the racehorse and the baby elephant !
They are beautiful dogs. I am sure you will find a great home for any you wish to place.

    1. Jane...Craigslist is the first place I look when things are needed here. I buy used items whenever I can. I must say I have never encountered an elephant or zebra on our Craigslist or they may have found a place here on the farm...hahaha. Not everyone can say they have an elephant or zebra you know.
