First Spring Kids on the Ground!

I found these two kids this morning.  I did not have the doe in the kidding stall as she still had another couple of days.  Surprise! One buck and one doe.   The two does I do have in the kidding stalls are still hanging on to theirs.  Goats...never a dull moment!

This one is the little buck.

The one hiding under mama is the little doe.

After this excitement I went in to clean the pig stall and play with the baby pigs for a few minutes.  You can almost see them growing!  All 8 of them are still doing fine.

Yesterday I snitched one out of the pen to show the Marine.  Every picture I took blurred.  Those little critters move fast and are loud when you take them away from Mama.  This one was screaming to high heaven by the time I got it back to the pen.  Good thing Miss Piggy is so mild mannered or I may would have gotten beat up.  She still wasn't too pleased with making her baby squeal!

    1. I love the new spring critters Rob. We have pear trees, blueberry bushes and plum trees blooming. If we don't get another hard freeze maybe we'll have fruit this year.

    1. The two kids were a surprise Kelly. I have 3 does who look like they could start into labor any time. If they don't have them by the time Walking Dead goes off and I do my last check...maybe I will find more tomorrow!

  3. I've never had goats, but probably would if my wife wasn't so against it. I've never kept pigs or chickens, either, though my grandparents did. I used to raise rabbits and cattle. I miss the thrill of seeing the new ones, so I really enjoyed this post and your last.

    1. GS...I have never raised cattle but may want one or two one day. The kids raised some rabbits when they were little but not for meat. I am enjoying my first piggies and the new kids are always fun. Take your wife to a goat farm. She may change her mind! In the meanwhile I am glad you can live vicariously through my blog and others.

  5. Too cute for words. There are baby goats all over the fields around here. Their feet have springs.

    1. I could watch them all day Glock Mom. The bucks will be sold as soon as they are weaned. Papa Bear gets too attached to them. We would go bankrupt feeding all of his "pets"
