This is how you do it....
Earlier this week when I got up to check the Marine I found his new puppy"Baby" in the bed with him. I thought Papa Bear forgot to put her in her bed. She usually sleeps in her bed which is located under the Marines hospital bed. She is so tiny, we were worried that she would injure herself if she tried to jump from the Marines bed to the floor so we have always made sure she was on the floor before we went to bed.
After the initial day of finding her in his bed, if she is not running around playing or outside doing her business....she is in the Marine's bed with no assistance. I finally saw how she was getting up and managed to snap some photos last night.
From the floor...
To the footstool ....
To the chair....
Standing on the arm of the chair.....
Crawling through the bed rails.......
Snuggling in.....I think she knows who she belongs to.
Thanks Lynnie...they do seem to love each other. The Marine will actually lift up his head from the pillow to look down at her, which is a big deal for him!
It does my heart good to see this too Glock Mom....Since we lost his Bichon "Charlie" I worry about the Marine being alone at night as he doesn't sleep more than a few hours at a time. Now he has someone to watch TV with and keep him company!
oh Mamma - what an awesome post! and what an awesome little puppy! she obviously wants to be with her Marine as much as possible! i read an article somewhere about sleep patterns and the article said that studies had been conducted involving people sleeping with, and without pets. apparently the people AND the pets that slept together had much better rest.
i am glad to know that the Marine has a sleep buddy AND a great protector. she will always protect him and it doesn't matter how tiny she is.
kymber...I hope that sleep study is right. The Marine only sleeps an hour or so at a time so I am glad Baby wants to be with him so much. Maybe she will teach him to sleep instead of watching TV all night. The Marine sleeps a lot better during the day when all the household activity is going on. I think he feels more secure then.
How very precious! There is nothing like the loyalty, companionship and love of a dog. That tiny girl knows where she is needed and evidently she won't let her size stand in the way of her duty.
Thanks for sharing. We lost our 13 year old Lab last week and this post has warmed my heart.
Oh Red...I am sorry you lost your fur baby and I am glad my post warmed your heart. I hope soon you will be able to open your heart to another furry companion.
Baby is starting out being loyal and has not had any prompting from us except for putting her up in his bed before she figured out how to do it herself! Baby has no concept of size. She walks right up to my Mom's Shepherd and our pigs. They could swallow her in one bite!
Baby is a smart little thing. She so loves being right next to the Marine. You can see by looking at the Marine's face he loves and adores Baby. This was one of the best gifts you could have got your Marine.
Sandy...Baby is turning out to be a smart little girl and I think she is going to be very devoted to our Marine. I am glad Papa Bear said we could get a new puppy who could be an inside dog for the Marine. We have another inside dog that happened right after Baby came along but that is another post!
I found that site very usefull and this survey is very cirious, I ' ve never seen a blog that demand a survey for this actions, very curious... survival seeds

DeleteDogs are a lot smarter than people give them credit for, and also a good judge of character.
ReplyDeleteYou are right K...I don't want anything to do with a person who doesn't like animals. I like animals more than some people I know!

You found just the right companion for the Marine, I am sure she brightens his days and nights, such a little snuggle bunny to keep him company.
